Meeting someone new carries real risk, and no app removes it. Here is what we do about it, and what you can do.
What we do
Photo review before anything appears
Every photograph is checked before it reaches anyone else. Nudity, weapons and images of children are removed and the account is flagged.
Verification you can see
Members can verify with a selfie matched against their profile. A verified badge means a person has proved they are the one in the pictures.
Reports reach a person
Safety reports jump the queue and are read by a trained reviewer. You are never penalised for reporting someone in good faith.
Blocking is absolute and silent
A blocked member disappears from your deck, your matches and your messages — and you disappear from theirs. They are not told.
What you can do
Meet in public, the first few times
Somewhere with staff and other people. Not their home, not yours.
Arrange your own transport
Both ways. Being able to leave when you want to is the whole point.
Tell someone where you are going
Share your date plan in the Safety Centre. Pick a check-in time; if you miss it, we contact the person you nominated.
Keep it in the app at first
Your phone number gives away more than you think. There is no rush to move to another platform, and anyone pushing for it is telling you something.
Never send money
Not for a plane ticket, an emergency, a customs fee, or an investment opportunity. Anyone who asks is running a scam, whatever the story.
Trust the feeling
If something is off, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation, a reason, or the rest of the evening.
If you are in danger right now
Contact your local emergency services first. In Nigeria, dial 112. Report the member in the app when you are safe — it can wait, and you cannot.
